GABE W. MILLER MEMORIAL FOUNDATION AWARDS
SEVENTH SOCIAL SERVICE PROJECT GRANT

Midwest Shelter For Homeless Veterans
The Gabe W. Miller Memorial Foundation presented its 7th Social Service Project Grant on November 23, 2009 to Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans.  MSHV is a transitional living unit that provides counseling, educational and job-training services to U.S. veterans of any era to help them out of homelessness and back to useful, productive lives.  It is located at 119 N. West St. in downtown Wheaton.  The $4,000 grant will supplement the compensation and benefits of Bob Adams, MSW, Loyola University Chicago, LCSW, and founder, President and Clinical Director of MSHV.  Among the clinical services rendered personally and also supervised by Mr. Adams is treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. 

“Gabe was passionate about helping the disabled, the disadvantaged and the dispirited,” said Alan Miller, President of the Gabe W. Miller Memorial Foundation.  “This donation to the Midwest Shelter honors his mission of reaching out to people in need.”  It also satisfies a Foundation goal established several years ago to try to help the PTSD crisis facing America.
